Dunno about "corrected"... 'cause what the hell do I know... except that I hate it when car companies invalidate their warranty over oil issues... even if they're the ones that told you it was safe in the first place.

No biggie about being 'corrected'. The knowledge generated from people on this site still spins my head.

The Mobil 1 oil has on the label CJ4 CI4 plus CI4/CH4 ACEA E7 E5.

So the CI meets compression ignition, this should suffice, I take it?

As usual, thank you in advance.

Stay safe, stay well.

i doubt running that oil will hurt it using it once.  its not like the PD's where the oil was so critical or your camshaft is scrap.  just be sure to track down some Total oil or Liqui Moly for next time.  the benefit of those oils is extended drains which saves you money.

Will look for Total with google. Not happy with waiting 10,000 miles to change the oil, but haven't burned a drop in 4,000.

Again, thanks to all for your help.

Stay safe, stay well. Jimmy.

if you want to extend oil drains even further try running a bypass filter.

i'm running a bypass filter and the oil is considerably cleaner than without...

Nice idea. Any idea on where to put it on a 2009? Very tight in there, not much space.

Looked at the FS-2500 for my F-250. Maybe when I get the $$$ to do it.

As usual, thanks much.

Stay safe, stay well.  And a Happy Easter to those celebrating it.

I've been using 10K miles oil change intervals on my Golf TDI since it was new.  I have 182K on it now with absolutely no engine problems.  It still starts/runs like day 1.  There was actually a lot of oil analysis done on tdiclub when the 10K OCI started.  The findings were that you could easily go 20K on the oil at the time without breaking down the lubricating properties of the oil.

If the book says 10K, I'd just wait 10K.
