My vote... for a daily driver the head appears fine... cracks between the valves are smaller than many I've seen (in general a dime is the thickness limit), and the pre-chambers are beginning to show some stress fractures but given how thick they are they probably have many many miles left.
I'd have it surfaced, rebuilt as required (guides, seals, etc) and carry on.
This was the kind of reply I was looking for. Thanks vince. Now, head resurfacing? Machine shop does this I imagine or can I just run a flat block on it with 1000 grit or so, and if it goes to the machine shop do the precups have to come out, and should I peen them in? And if I do, how would I go about doing it.
So many questions... so much left to do.
