Hello all from New Zealand,
I have managed to find a Skoda Felicia 1.9D Pickup with an AEF engine, that a fellow Brit exported out here(I am Scottish). Trouble is she drove it through a puddle and now doesn't start.
I have the sump off and at least 2 rods are bent and it won't start. My wrecker has a Mk2 Gold with a 1.6GTD engine which I am keen to fit.
Is there any benefits from using parts from both engines to build a hybrid? For instance is the head better from the AEF??
I also have a couple of turbos from 2.7 TDV6 Land Rover engines which run around 195bhp. The only issue is that they are VGT controlled by motors. Would one of these be any use on the engine?
Cheers,
Barry
You can use the head from the 1.9 on the 1.6 td block. More flow, more power. There are others on the site can tell which head gasket works with that combo. You may also have to get a 1.9 TD intake manifold also, so that the inlets match up.
I done a lot of searching last night and found some bits.
I may have to get the 1.9D intake modified for boost as it's an NA head. And as I am thinking of using a VNT turbo so maybe a new exhaust system too.
