Sure, that will work. Just make sure that the jumper cables are REALLY LARGE !! One lead from the Batt pos to the fuel shut-off solenoid, and one to the glow plug side of the glow plug fuse. Leave the glow plugs wired up for 30 to 45 seconds, or for just 10 to 15 seconds if they are the fast kind.
Wind that sucker up for no more than 30 seconds at a time, with 5 min pauses to let the starter motor cool.
Hopfully, the "bad fuse box" is not so screwwed up that it will take out something else. Remove the wires from the fuel solenoid and the glow plug fuse before jumping them.
