Hi guys, can anyone tell me where to get the tools #2078 and #10-208 used to compress the valve springs and replace the adjusting discs for doing a valve adjustment? Also where to get the adjusting dics? I am replacing injectors too, I dont really need a special wrench to remove the injector lines right?
Thanks again.

ok thank you, now what about those adjusting discs, anyone know where to get those? I seem to remember someone posting sometime that you can get a pack with a bunch of assorted sizes in it??
thanks, holy smokes thats too much $$ though. Does anyone else have the solid lifters? What am I missing here, how do I do this valve adjustment for cheap? Thanks
Honestly... most folks I know still running solid-lifter heads just take it to the shop. Unless you're planning to drive this car for the next 20 years the payback time of the two tools and a box of shims vs. booking it into a shop is not likely there.
Now, if you have several solid-head cars in your fleet, *or* you like the perfection that comes from taking care of things under the hood yourself, then just consider all this a worthwhile investment.
At least that's what I tell the rest of my family.
I've gotten the shims at Napa before, they cost like $1-2 each. I ordered a bunch of sizes and they were cheap except for the 3.65mm, I ordered three of 'em and they were backordered and musta came from somewere else, they costed $16 each! I would've said forget it but I needed 'em real bad.
I discovered that VWdieselparts.com rents the tools and sells the shims.
