I read somewhere that the turbo off a 2.5TD (Transporter Van) can be fitted to a 1.6 SB engine, will this work and will it smoke a lot, mt current engine only smokes on startup and has done less tha 65k.
Cheers

I can't really directly comment on the turbo as they didn't even sell those engines in this country, but I would think that it'd be bigger than the stock one. I could be wrong though. The Volvo straight 6 diesel (VW engine) had the same size turbo as our 1.6's. Assuming it is bigger than your stock one then I would make sure that you've reached the limits of the stock turbo before getting into switching turbos. The pump will not work though as it is for a 5cyl.
