this is my first topic here, and i have a question for you...

could you give the compression ratios and "bore&stroke"sizes of some tdi models?

The 1.9 TDIs are 79,5mm bore  X 95,5mm stroke (as are the 1.9 IDIs) Compression ratio on the 1.9 distributor pump TDIs is 19,5:1, and on the PD it is 19:1

The V10 TDI is 81,0mm bore X 95,5 mm stroke, and I believe the CR is 18:1, but I'm not sure.

the 2L TDI is 81,0mm bore X 95,5mm stroke, with 18.5:1 compression ratio .

The 1.4 TDI (3 cylinder) is also 79,5x95,5 with a 19,5:1 CR.

You should also be able to glean specs on the current models from www.volkswagen.de - correct me if any of the above is wrong... :)

I was looking for the "bore&stroke" of the old 2.5tdi, 5cyl... that came into VW transporter (europe, i think) or caravelle... but i can't find them :(

about my english, you don't imagine how many times i write... read... erase.... rewrite a post, LOL
but that's ok... thank god there is a universal language that we all can understand... and thank god my english teacher (many years ago) was a sexy lady... i never missed a class.  :D

Oh, Ok.  Forgot about the grandmama of all TDI's.

The 2.5L 5 Cylinder TDI had an 81mm bore and 95.5mm stroke for 2.46 displacement.

There's a 2.5L V6 TDI as well, but I can't find any info about it.
