Greetings Volks,
For you IDI VW Diesel owners out there interested in increasing your car's performance... how much would you prefer your fuel pump's max no-load RPM be set to in order to increase the upper RPM limit of your usable powerband?
Note: max no-load RPM is the speed the engine turns if the throttle is floored with the tranny in neutral.
I vote to govern with right foot :twisted:
govern? hold it to the floor!
never had a problem with hopped up gassers that had no rev limiter.
I'm all for 7000-10000 rpm diesels, with HUGE turbo's!
valvefloat for me

(with double spring upgrade

)
see, now someone told me on another page, about this same topic, that these motors make max power around 4000. and that it is pointless to rev them to anything past that. i like the idea of having very little governor. we all have built in governors, its just that some of us dont know how to let off the smoke pedal. i think it would be friggin sweet if we could make our motors turn a ton of revs and still be building power.
my 1.6 made wicked power even roughly around 6200 rpm
