hello
i bought a pump while ago but had problems so turned to the older pump again.
the car missed and died a few times...the guy who installed it was a retard so i didnt know if the problem was the pump or the instalation...
"sold" the pump to a friend with the condition if it worked it will give me money but te had the same problems as i.
on a bosch diesel shop were he mounted it they said that they found some metal shavings on the solenoid shut off valve but no more and so my friend returned me the pump.
now i have this resealed pump(from previous owner info and look like that) but that dont work right...
never opened a pump(aside governor cover) but i am mechanical inclined so i dont know what to do now...
what could be the problem?
just the solenoid?
open and check?
Every diesel tech I have ever talked to said if you have metal shavings in the stop solenoid area the pump is toast. That said if you get the parts to work on the pump yourself its not too difficult just pay attention.

identical but its very close in the important ways.
great link...
but from what you say i might go ahead and try myself to see whats happening as its toat already...
Yeah its worth a shot. Realize everything is spring loaded and if you're not careful while removing the head the guts will fall out and you will lose something. Keep everything clean, and it takes a special tool to completely disassemble the pump.
