Car just needs too much work.  Parting out.  Post up or PM with what you need.

edit:  Sorry I wasn't fully clear about this.  Am going to hold onto the engine & tranny for the moment...

Just the Quantum stuff is available.

I see the beast's on eBay now.  NW'ers'll snag it surely, even if it's a basket-case.

I've got an '84 in much better shape, with under 100k on it, that I picked up from a driveway in Memphis.  Zero rust; just needs a repaint, and it's better than a $5,000 TDI-equipped high-mileage golf, jetta, or bug!  God bless old diesel dubs!

If you get more than $300 for it, you're doing alright.  Nobody wants to gamble with a non-running engine these days, and it looks like you've got some substantial water-damage inside; leaking seals are a pain to deal with, too!

'84 Quantum sedan (oops, not '83!)
'83 Quantum wagon(ditto, not '82)
'82 Westfalia
'79 Rabbit
Mmmm.  Diesely.

I wish it was closer. Towing that beast back here on a tow dolly (over 400 miles) sounds not so fun....even so I'm giving it some consideration. I kinda just want the engine :D
