http://andy2turbo.multiply.com/photos/album/1/pistonTrying to figure out how to post pics again .Do you guys think that they will work or explode . They have been machined out for a 14-14.5: CR.The valve cutouts have been enlarged to accept bigger valves as well.I hope they will hold together and I will be getting them coated as well.

i put the image on my hosting for you
wow did you completely gut the cone in the middle? i wonder how it will run
Thanks,Yeah it won't run too well at all I suspect untill the overfueling/overboosting comes into play. The cone is completely removed and the bowl is a bit deep as well as a bit bigger on the diameter.
IF* it works I think its going to smoke like a hog down low. Set your timing advance so it will not cold start. also you should have left some bowl area and lip. Check out my pistons on tdiclub you will see what I mean.... I would also be VERY afraid that your bowls are going to crack if you went to deep/wide.
But hey you never know! Can we run it as dual fuel and put spark plugs in the glow plug spot? Now how about injecting 50:1 mix?
And
BTW is 14.5:1 pre cam?!?! if so you have a very very low CR... I wonder if it will run? keep me posted I really want to know!
14:1 with stock cam to start with.Should be interesting for a learing experience anyways .I don't like the idea of lowering the compression using a camshaft.I havn't seen or heard of any modded pistons cracking.
I would think the lack of the cone would cause issues. But like you said there is only one way to figure it out.
your stock cam will actually drop the cr a little bit. It is called dynamic CR. your real CR with a stock ahu, alh cam would be somewhere around 13.5-14:1!
Regardless keep us posted on when it is together!
