• i was wondering if anyone changed the glow plug relay on the mk1s so they glow faster... the stock one takes forever compared to the newer models.

• You need to change both the relay and the glow plugs. The fast glow plugs and relay for a mk2 will solve your problem.

• You can also trigger the relay with the opening of the doors.

• Correct me if I'm wrong but I think you must us a relay with wiring:
  
  86 to the door-pin (ground)
  85 to constant 12v
  30 to constant 12v
  87 to pin 86 of the timerrelay, dunno which color wire that is (or if it even has a wire in the wiringharnass
  
  Then when you open the door the relay is closed and the glowrelay is triggered.
