Can anyone tell me if Mk1 TD's have an LDA on the injector pump? Reason I ask is because I recently bought a Mk1 Turbo cylinder head with the intention of turning my n/a block into a turbo. The guy i bought if from gave me the injection pump that was supposed to come off of the turbo but i noticed it did not have an LDA on top. Have these always been on IPs or were they a later addition?
You either got hosed or he sold you an "eco"pump.Turbo without extra fuel.
Hey thanks for the reply. I was wondering why it didnt have the space ship thing up on top and think it came off of a vanagon because it has the longer offset throttle lever. Looks like i ll go get my money back.
turbo vanagons didnt have a lda or it was funny shaped i dont know.

Yeah, I haven't seen enough to be certain, but I don't think the Vanagon 1.6 TD pumps had the LDA. It wouldn't clear the engine cover. Later, when the 1.9 AAZ was installed in the Vanagon, they put in a cut-out plate into the engine cover.
I wouldn't say you got hosed per-se. Just that it won't give you added fuel under boost.
Just for the hell of it here is a picture I found of the pump that i had minus the diaprahgm thing on there. I now have one with the LDA. The guy made a mistake but he seemed so certain that he was right, I doubted myself.
I found this cool site probably already on here somewhere though.
