I found a 26+ aluminum fuel tank to put into my Caddy Diesel and after putting about 5 gallons of diesel in it I found out it leaks. Any remedy to fixing it besides pulling it back out and having it welded? I was hoping I could get away with some sort of epoxy mix but am open to ideas. Thanks!

A good epoxy like JB weld will work but you will have to clean where the hole really really well. Alcohol or brake cleaner and then see if anything sweats out, if so it may not stick

I half remember seeing a JB weld for use in liquids. I think it was supposed to be able to cure underwater, but that is water, not fuel, so i don't know if it will set up at all. But, I would see if there is a JB weld web site that might list this product and info regarding it.

I found a 2 part epoxy from Napa that claims it will set up while wet, so I will try that and see what happens. I just hate having to drain and remove the tank if I don't have to.

Thats probaby what I was thinking about then. I still sorta work for NAPA part time (killer discount

) so i've probably read every catalog on the rack due to slow afternoons. :lol:
