1996 golf/rabbit pump and boost questions

hi there im new,
been reading up on here, and already managed to squeeze more power out of my golf

ok so its a 1.9 td AAZ

ive wound out actuator rod - just about 15 psi
its maxed out at that, its that about right??
it is a small turbo ( i will replace eventually, money permitting )
ive fitted a rover boost pin, and adjusted the fueling about half turn

there is not the same adjustments on the pump as detailed on this forum with it being a newer pump
anyone any ideas the best things i can do to this??
a lot of things seem to be automatic, or fixed!

also boost comes on, and drops slightly, sometimes goes backup, any ideas on this??
