95 GTI VR6 to AHU TDI conversion
« on: September 30, 2008, 10:54:15 pm »
Originally, I wanted to do a toyota 4x4 truck but i never got around to it.  Just bought a 95 VR6 that will eventually get a mTDI swap but I already have the mtdi pump that i bought from another member here and also i have a mechanical setup VNT20 done by Tintin.  Engine block and head is sitting at rebuilder and it's from a 97 Passat tdi.

I expected it to be worst when i went to look at it.  It does not seem that bad with the rust.
In any case, i got it for less than 1k :D with some clutch or slave cylinder problem.  The clutch pedal does not release back up when depressed sometimes.  Right now, i just want to stuff that tdi in it and slowly get going to make it look better.

Quick updates:  1)  I have included some progress pics.
2)  Also, i am doing a full electronics instead of the mtdi.  I will save the pump for a sidekick conversion or something else.  I ended up getting a 98 jetta tdi part car and that's why i want to go electronics.

Yeah, it's running but the check engine light on, runs rough and smokes cold (code 01050? glow plug monitoring) but glow plugs ohm check good.
Any help would be appreciated?
