this guys head gasket would only be economical if it could be re-used, which i doubt... not saying that it is inferior quality though...
Hello,i have just also ordered two gaskets, 1x 2 notch, 1x 3 notch. John seems to be realy a nice guy.Best regardsClemens
Is the guy who makes these gaskets web smart?Invite him to this web page to set up a group buy of your style gasket.I need a 1 notch for my 1.6TD with the 1.9 head as i pulled that appart again, and my 1.5TD takes a two notch, I think.
...BTW your Bieber avatar is awesome.-Malone
yes... he is web smart for sure.but I don't really need any gaskets for myself...mine should be here any day.if you want to do something like that then sign up for "skype" the link is on gasketstogo.com and talk to John...I'm sure he will work something out with you and the forum members.....I would have done this from the get go..but I could not wait for all the people, money and the rest of the time consuming variables that come with GB's..I'm sure you could get a lot of guys interested...maybe post a link on vortex in their diesel section too???
Hmmm.I didn't realize head gaskets were such a huge issue...I thought metal ones sorta solved the problem.150$ (is that USD too?) for a one time use head gasket is some serious coin!!! Sweet jesus! I thought 60$CDN for mine was a bit much. What would the difference be anyways? I really look forward to you getting yours to see what the big fuss is all about. can you imagine if you put it on and messed up and had to REDO it?taking the head off twice is a 300$ job JUST in head gaskets... 4 times and you're almost at a grand!!!Suppose the point is that you never have to take it off...I wonder if a gasket made of some sort of putty would work too... and the surfaces of the block and head were rough to adhere to the putty substance. then you run into thickness problems i know...Good luck man i hope it holds for centuries.

I supose i could do it again.Put that puppy in and shoot the coal to it so we can see if it holds up. Then I'll see about a group buy.I'm head-gasket-less right now on my 1.6td franken motor. The Viton I used to make the extra drain hole plug had too high of a durometer and didn't let the head fully seat. I may start to search out softer Viton and go with the 1.9 metal head gasket insted though. So fire that puppy up as soon as you can.
You can search mcmaster-carr's database isolating materials according to their properties. Makes finding the "perfect" substance a relative breeze.Andrew
