Last night, first time running 15 pounds, was at a light in downtown Peterborough, the blocks are about 50 metres from light to light.. A done up lateish 90s Pontiac Grand AM pulls up next to me, I look around...didn't see any fuzz so I assumed he'd go me. I saw him look over at my car, pretty sure he saw my Ultra Lite Gauges lit up, he blipped his throttle i didn't look over. Anyway, light turns green and we take off, I didn't pop the clutch or anything, just smooth into first at about 1750rpm all the way to 5k, chirpped the tires into 2nd...he had a better start than I did but we were equal all the way to the next light. I guess thats why we love our boost.

That's fun isn't it?

Last night I was heading home from a church party, got to the corner by my house (1/2 block from home) and some of the older kids were standing on the corner teasing me about my old rattly diesel so I gave it a few RPM's and dumped the clutch. Tires spun all the way to 5k where I shifter and continued to spin them till I hit my driveway (hope the neighbors weren't looking).

Most the kids were in awe a little diesel VW could do that, "That was SO cool!!"" they chanted  8)

hahaha, I know everyone thinks mine is stupid too, but I usually just pump a little black smoke at 'em and that shuts 'em up for a while.
'82 Rabbit, I put on a euro vnt-15, 2.25" DP, 2.5" exhaust, the result.....it whistled.

I removed the turbo, made a toilet bowl 2.5" DP, the result....it was deafening. Now it has a homemade muffler up front and a thrush in the rear, the result.....less loud.

I get asked regularly, "Why do you waste so much time and money on that piece of crap?"

Firstly, i expain that i enjoy doing it and tat i have spent almost no money on my car. My total purchase price and build cost is usually less than their purchase cost alone.

all the while im looking at their completely un-maintained, American, hunk-o-crap that has much worse paint than mine and is slower.. oh but it apparently has less "problems" than mine!

oh, did I mention it's half old as my vw?
