Thanks again for the help Tintin, I hope to make some time on Sunday to dig into the harness again.
We are basically running a Greasecar conversion kit but had to modify a few things for the SCORE rules and safety regulations. The main difference from a standard kit is the fuel tank is an FIA certified bladder race cell that we added a heated fuel pickup to. The heated filter, valves and wiring are standard Greasecar. We are using a small 6 gal cell for diesel startup.
Tis years race is just over 600 miles (last year was over 1300), unfortunately there won't be much time for testing as we likely won't have the car complete until the first week of Nov. and the race starts the 20th. The primary hurtle right now is this wiring issue which seems totally bizarre, it is such a simple circuit, I cant image what could possibly be wrong.
I looked on your site but didn't find what kind of TDI it is? Is it 1Z or ?? Also, you say that you used an adapter plate, is that a KEP or custom? What clutch disc and PP are you using? Are these all trade secrets:-)?
Good Luck!
Tom
The engine is an ALH with KEP adaptor, the clutch is a 4-puck off-road racing clutch not sure of make or specs.
According to my schematics the Throttle pedal terminals are as such and the voltages that I measured are as follows:
TPS
1- resistor measured output:(.7-00vdc)
2- 5v power from ECU measured output: 5vdc
3- reostat measured output(00-00vdc)
Kick-down
5- measured output:(.10-7.35vdc)
Closed Throttle Position
4- measured ooutput:(.42-4.32vdc)
6- ground has been separated from MAP circuit and grounded to batt to eliminate fault code.
I have been able to get rid of all of my codes but the TPS still gives no signal to the ECU or VAG-com
