I stil have to dril the hole in the back of the engine for the oil return hose. The other things are plug and play. The oil feedline can be mounted directly to the oil filter adapter.
Intake manifold is ok for now. Because I'm going to place a T2 from a AHU TDI it fits.
Is the block on a AEF the same as an AAZ? Maybe the oil return that is used on the AAZ is there, hidden under a plug?
Do you know if IZ and AHU have the same style exhaust manifold? I´d like to have the turbo underneath for clearence under the bonnet..
I´ve just started planning this job, havent decided on what turbo/manifold to use yet.
The block is the same with the oil return bung? and all but the hole isn´t drilled/tapped.
And the AAZ misses a mount for the AEF style water pump. But you can easily make one. But an AAZ water pump on AEF is no problem.
Tack!
It would have been too easy if the oil return was drilled/tapped
Now I need to find out what manifolds to use.
Indeed the oil return hole has to be drilled and tapped. Not a problem but it's cleaner if you remove the oilpan and put something over the crankshaft and other components.
Even the 1.9TDI is not a problem to mount in the 6N but you need to find a solution for the gearbox. You realy don't want to keep the very weak 085 transmission.
Hi i have a t25 van with a 1.9 n/a aef polo engine fitted in it. The engine has a lucas diesel pump. is it possible to fit a Bosch diesel pump instead.
If so what pump will fit? ie AAZ? etc.
Thanks
Dridgy
I'm almost finished with my conversion. For now I installed it with the "weak" 085-gearbox and a special clutch made for this gearbox (170mm)
I got some pictures made with my telephone as soon as I got proper pictures I will post them here.
