1.9 TD max horsepower?
« on: June 27, 2005, 08:33:51 am »
I'm wondering what is the upper end horsepower (approximately) that could be had with a 1.9 AAZ engine.  I would like to do whatever modifications I can -- head porting, high performance air filter, intercooling, custom header (if that would help), big exhaust, IP tuning, and whatever else could help (suggestions welcome).

I want to put this in a Vanagon and have a vehicle that can actually keep up with traffic.

So anyone have any rough numbers that would help me decide if this is a worthwhile project?

Well, I just read in the FAQ section that 120 hp can be obtained with pump and turbo mods.  That would be plenty for me  :) .
