FS: 83 VW Quantum Wagon 1.6TD 5-spd in OR

This early Volkswagen Quantum TD wagon cruises at 70+MPH while getting 40mpg. Runs and drives great, starts up right away and appears to have lots of life left in it (196k miles on the odometer). 1.6l turbo diesel engine w/5-spd manual trans. Currently running on biodiesel and has had the fuel hoses upgraded with Viton.

Cosmetically this rig is wanting in several categories but it is a solid car, with no rust and no major body damage. The paint is faded and nothing exciting to look at (brownish-gold color), and the interior could use some help (missing the carpet on the driver's side). The seats and the head liner are in good shape. This car has power steering, but no pwr windows/locks and no AC. Overall it could use some cosmetic help inside and out, but is functional as it stands. Also, no rust or body damage is present.

Recent work: oil/filter change (Dello-400/Mann), fuel filter change, air filter change, 4-new bosch glow plugs.

If you're looking for a diesel wagon and don't want to pay a fortune for one, this one needs a new home.

Good Oregon tags into '09, clear Oregon title in hand. $1500/obo, Cash talks. Located in Corvallis.  Best offer so far is $1200, but clearly the engine alone is worth that.
