I'm getting them for my TDI-M.The only hastle is to find a good and cheap supply of various shims?

looking for some high rpm power?  :twisted:

what mods must be done to run these followers??? i would actually consider them to be 'upgrades'.  anything need to be done to any oil holes etc???

remember to use a mechanical cam profile, hydraulic cam profiles are unsuitable for mech setups.

EDIT: the major advantage on going mech is that the most aggressive cam setups can be used, I don't think 210º is more than "stock" or "very mild" in cam terms.

our stock diesel timings are in the order of 190º.. why mech?

Well I don't like the hydraulic lifter as it can keep the valves open under high boost and fueling (EGT's).I suspect they might be partly to blame for my exhaust valve issues.The hydraulic lifter can over extend and cannot shorten itself down to allow for expansion in the valve length as it is subjected to high EGT's. With mechanical systems the lash is fixed and can be changed between the lifter and cam to allow more clarance for high preformance applications.

With a daily driven car I'd stick to hydraulic lifter.Remember most of the newest Diesel engines today still don't use hydraulic lifters :wink: .

No modifications needed for installing them you only need to get the correct thickness of shim.
