1982 Rabbit with ('86) TD swap almost done, Time to Sell!!!

I am selling my 1982 4dr Rabbit with a nearly complete TD swap done.

I'm hoping for about $1000 obo for it. The parts should be worth about that much.

The TD motor is in. It wants to start. I think the Injector Pump timing is just a bit off, keeping it from actually starting.

This project is ready for you.

If you want, there's also a complete 1.6 NA and two 1.6 NA blocks. As well as a 4speed and 5speed tranny. Those can come your way for $300 for the complete package.

how many miles on engine, 5 speed or 4 speed, how many miles on body? would like make one but my 84 rabbit only has 84,000.

The motor has 202K according to the odometer of the car I took it out of.  That car is long since gone though.

The car has probably 200k on it as well. It's been through a couple engines on the previous owner.   It's not in bad shape. It has a little rust along one of the door jambs and then the typical stuff in the rear wheel well area.  No problems on the shock towers or anywhere else from what I can tell thus far.

It has Boge sport suspension in the back, and I have the springs for the front, I just haven't put them on yet.  I also have an extra hatch that will come with it.  Not bad for the price...if I do say so myself.

Oh no Mikey!  Why are you selling it?  I was hoping to see it spring to life soon!  Although, I'm having so many problems with my gasser Scirocco that I'm about to push it off a cliff!!  Anyway, good luck with it, what ever you decide to do.

Well, I have found a Caddy with the TD swap done. It's the right price and ready to roll.  I am looking at that one as the easiest way to go right now.

I have absolutely no time to work on the Rabbit. I hate to see it go, but with the deal I am looking at with the Caddy, I am ready to jump on it.

Heh, if I werent moving in a week, I'd probably take it just for the engines.    It's going to be hard enough hauling the Scirocco back to Ohio...  Good luck with selling it- Hey, anybody out there- this is a good find, I've seen it myself!

Eh, we decided about a month ago.  We were looking for apartments and couldnt find anything in our price range, (that we could feel comfortable living in) and the job prospects arent improving much so we are going back to Ohio.  Found a nice 2 bedroom house for rent with a garage for nearly half what we are paying now for our piece of crap apartment.    Besides, it will be nice to get away from all of the people in the city.  Havent found a job out there yet but I'm sure something will come up.  Believe me, I'll be back to visit many times.
