Front disc brake rattle
« on: June 06, 2005, 10:40:58 am »
Ok anyone know how to stop that nasty rattle the disc brake pads make? I put new anti rattle clips on and it still does it.  I'm up for suggestions.
Thanks

Also check the slots in your brake pads.  If they are worn into a stretched out V instead of a well defined square notch they will need to be replaced.  The last set of bushings I got were an updated style that did not need the teflon stuff.

Thanks,  I did notice that the bushings around the caliper bolts didn't look the greatest but then they didn't look bad either. I guess the 188K miles on the vehicle has taken its toll on them. The pads are super thick, I would say the PO just had them replaced before he traded the car.
Thanks again :D
