On the other hand though, if I paid 1/2 a years salary on a car, I certainly would want it to be flawless

I do a little wrenching on other people's cars,.. I only work on A1/A2 VWs and like to stay away from gassers but work on a few for good friends.
 I am getting burnt out on it but damn I can do most of it with my eyes closed.
  VW diesel owners don't complain about a rattle in the dash  :lol:
