Building a 1.6 the RIGHT way
« on: August 15, 2008, 04:16:16 pm »
I'm gathering parts for a 1.6TD build.

Raceware headstuds will be ordered on monday. I recall a rebuilder that does great headwork - but, after looking through 5 different forums, I cant seem to find him. I'm going to be upgrading my 1.6 mech head to a 1.9 hydro head.

my next question: Which gasket will I need (after I measure piston protrusion, of coarse.) and what water jacket will need to be sealed?

last question:
-Oil squirter part numbers, I also heard of people using bimmer squirters?

Any help would be gladly appreciated. I dont have a lot of free time to find everything again.

I use mercedez nozzles and like them from :

I put a 1.9 metal HG on my 1.6 (top and bottom) all the holes lined up nicely i didn't have to do anything.

As for your water jacket, there is already a post on here about that i believe. Just keep lookin it shouldnt take long. It wasn't too long ago.
Also, use the search feature. It's quite handy.
