Heres the turbo I bought on friday, dropped off my IP to Giles too...he said the turbo is pretty much brand new, so i'm happy about that.
On the way there, the stupid cable fell off my gas pedal on my mark2 golf, and..just..was not fun.  :x

anyway, heres some pics of the turbo.

it will be an interesting build as the car is in a poor state, but Giles pumps are said to have an anti-rust effect :D

Interesting yes. It will Have been in poor shape, but as you can tell from the long list of parts I am replacing...it will not be the same car.
The body is in great shape for it being totally stock, the engine was leaking oil due to the head gasket, and so the sub-frame is well oiled...  8)

Yeah your pump was a rusty pile of junk. I stripped 3 bolts taking it apart  But it's nice and shiny and in 100s of pieces right now waiting for some black voodoo Giles magic

I see you are a victim of pre fabbed brake lines, awesome

Got some new parts today from that eMiata site that everyone loves talking about... Along with injectors and door handles I bought a timingbelt with tensioner and waterpump, both of which, I wont be using. Oh well.

I couldnt find my keys this morning, so I had to take the Soccer Mom Van...

Sooo, I ran into some trouble with my daily driver this weekend. Looks like I blew a HG, but I dont give a crap enough to check... This car has left me stranded for the last time!

Heres some pics of my adventure... I ended up having to get a 250km tow sitting next to the guys dying smelly dog the whole way. Not impressed.

insurance takes care of that, well at least around here. :?
hope its the same around there.

blown HG, well it seems so, oil from exhaust would point to turbo failure, but your engine bay wouldn't be like that.

Tow was 300 cash...

Luckily its an NA so it didn't overheat too much... Turns out that cruising 130-135 for an hour shook the oil filter loose  :?:   :?   ... Washed all the oil off, put more oil in and turned it on... it was leaking from there, so just put on a new filter and presto... it just won't die.

I got my Giles pump yesterday   :D   and some injections lines from Tyler... Now I just have to figure out what I'm going to do for the turbo... I've been searching the threads and reading up on it... I get that I need a gated boost controller, anyone know where I can get one? Dr. Diesel suggested SMOKEYDUB, but he hasn't responded yet...its really the last thing on my list before it gets put together...
