wierd IP ?

ok I had my pump rebuilt the shop said they did not recognise the numbers on the pump ( it works now so hope they did the right thing<laugh>)

Anaway my IP has a manual shut off - what o learned ones did it come from?  ( Three levers not two)

Automatic Peugeots have those....maybe yours came off an automatic VW? I've never seen an automatic IDI diesel, so I'm just throwing that one out there.  :D

Correct, automatic VW diesels have the manual shut off on the injection pump.

there was an automatic diesel jetta from 1985 onwards.  They are very rare, but they do exist.  I've heard the power and acceleration was similar to that of a ride on lawnmower.
88 Jetta TD....sold for $1000, bought an 06 Cobalt, clearing out the diesel jetta stuff now

well that makes some sense I also got a Quantum Auto tranny in the deal
I believe the po was going to mate all that stuff up to the 1.9 TD long block I also got.

Makes it clearer now.  hope the IP is the same on a manual and all the slownwss is bcause of the torq converter  and not the IP

Seems to work fine in my Suzuki so.....
