I've decided to part out my 81' Rabbit Diesel:

I have availiable many parts from the car including many from the 1.6 NA engine:

The IP is in EXCELLENT condition. The car was a DD for a while and NEVER had any problems with the fuel delivery system. It doesn't leak and everything appears to be in perfectly working condition.

This is availiable for $85 PLUS shipping. I will ship to Canada for whatever it will cost.

Camshaft and Timing Belt Pulled--$40 PLUS Shipping...IN EXCELLENT condition...this is the last year of the German made Rabbits...there is absolutely NO PITTING on ANY of the lobes...

NON A/C Alternator--$75 PLUS Shipping BRAND NEW...Put on Car this spring! EXCELLENT Condition. This is absolutely a steal...I need it gone.

how old is the IP?what kind of mileage where you getting?

To be completely honest I am the third owner of the car and I have no idea how old the IP is. As far as I'm concerned, EVERYTHING appeared to be original on it because I replaced alot of OEM parts that needed replaced. So my guess is the same age as the car. (judging by the amount of gunk on it and the amount of gunk in the engine bay that I cleaned, and NOT gunk from leaks...diesel soot gunk).

As far as milage, being honest again, I drove it to school and back (ranging 75-80 miles a trip) for about 2 months or about 1500 miles. I was getting anywhere from 42-45 highway. In town it didnt do nearly as well but this was my first diesel and I did no more than throw a timing belt on it, change the oil, throw in a fresh battery, check a few things and just drove it.

Where in Indiana do you live? I live in Rochester. You wouldn't want to sell the entire car and or the engine would you?

haha...yep I'm close. I have friends in Rochester.

I live close to Hamlet/Walkerton/Grovertown area. I'm probably not even 12-15 miles from Plymouth.

I would be interested in giving thats left (which is pretty much everything) everything away to you. I'm shooting you a PM right now with my number and we can talk about it.

Made some progress on the car today and got the engine completely removed. I'm in the process of getting the crank removed from the block next. The crank and oil intermediate shaft/pulley, pump and oil filter bracket will all be availiable for sale. If anyone needs any of these items let me know. I will sell them as a package for a good deal. I will also have 3 connecting rods/pistons that will be availiable for cheap sale. Only have 140K on them and in good working condition.

Giddy_up_go...the parts you need will be ready for pickup after tomarrow night. I have a bit more work to do but I should have everything you need. Give me a call when you're availiable to make it over and we can work something out.
