A friend and I were talking about storing his 1.6 IP in diesel fuel for a bit, while he gets the rest of his rebuild done.

We got onto the topic of the TDI intake manifold/turbo coking topic as well, and he asked me - can you store the turbo in diesel fuel over a long period of time to clean the vanes, etc, and of course the intake, since it works pretty well with cleaning other hydrocarbons...

Anyway, since I dont know all the internals of a turbo, I thought I would ask if it is even feasible...

Thanks all

you'd probably get better results storing it in gasoline... not sure what would happen to the seals though...
