« on: June 17, 2008, 02:12:59 pm »
Ok......... hello to all!

Im a little new to this so go easy on me.

It,s an 02 jetta. I have the pump installed and need to figure out how to wire the 6-speed speed sensor in to the jetta,s wiring. And yes I converted it from a 5-speed.
Also does this model car have a transfer pump in the tank?

Thanks for you help.

only PD engines came with an in-tank pump AFAIK.  some other models came with a pump in the tank to 'equalize' the tank level, since the tanks were kind of 'split', but do not push the fuel to the pump.

you don't need any wiring for an m-TDI except for the fuel stop solenoid.

is the speedo a cable , or a sending unit ?  are the sending units / cable ends , the same on the old and new tranny's ?

you have any pics ?

do you think the 6 speed could be made to  work on lets say a 1990 jetta with a 1.6 turbo ?
1990 jetta , tweaked pump , tweaked turbo , ported head  2.5inch exhaust .

1993 dodge w250 , diesel ... removing the dead moose parts .

i think it may be possible to drop the cable speedo into the same hole, but not sure.  i think the 6 speed has the same harness as the 5 speed boxes, but might differ from some years.

we need pics if possible

It is a sending unit. Do you know where I can find A WIRING DIAGRAM for my Jetta?

Yes it will work if you can find one cheap enough.
