A few T3 onto aaz questions
« on: June 17, 2008, 10:59:20 am »
Hi guys, just have a few questions about t3's onto aaz's. I have been given a T3 and manifold but it needs a rebuild as there is radial play, i presume the bearings have worn.
1. Does anyone know of the rebuild kit i need?
2. What other parts will i need? Will have to make a downpipe i know.
3. Does anyone have the part no. for the oil feed? I think this will drain down to the sump that i will have to put a tap into?

Think i will get a friend to make me a braided line at work for this.
4. Do i need to get it balanced afterwards?
Anything else needed?
A few pics.....

Get a good local hydraulic shop to make you an oil feed line (they also have all the fittings). Cobble a drain from a 1.6 and an AAZ and run it to the bottom of the block like the old one. I used a 1.6 pan and ran it there.

MAKE SURE WHEN YOU PUT YOUR OIL DRIAN LINE ON THAT ITS BIG ENOUGH WITH THE BIGGER TURBO YOU DRAIN MORE OIL, IF YOU JUST HOOK IT RIGHT TO THE OLD K03 turbo YOUR OIL WITH NOT DRAIN PROP AND GET ALL CAUGHT UP AND HAVE NO WHERE TO GO BUT OUT THE TURBO AND INTO YOUR INTAKE! WHEN YOU USE THE AAZ DRAINMAKE SURE YOU CUT IT LOWER THEN THE METAL LINE AND CUT IT AT THE BIGGEST DIAMETER OF THE BRAEDED LINE WHERE IT MEETS THE COUPLER....I TOOK THE BOLT OUT OF THE BLOCK AND THERE ARE 4 HOLES IN THE SCREW TO ALLOW OIL TO PASS WELL I DRILLED ALL THOSE HOLE BIGGER FOR MORE FLOW IT RELASES ALOT MORE OIL THEN THE k03 AND NEED TO DRAIN! MAKE SURE YOU HAVE ENOUGH DRAIAGE!!
I DIDNT AT FIRST AND I DROVE AROUND THE BLOCK AND ONCE THE OIL STOPED DRAINING AND GOT CAUGHT UP YOU COULDNT SEE ANYTHING BEHIND ME IT WAS BURING ALL THIS OIL ,, IM  LUCKY MY ENGINE DIDNT RUN AWAY!

JUST USE THE STOCK OIL FEED THEY MATE RIGHT UP WITH A LITTLE FINESING! OTHER THAN THAT REALLY EASY
AND DP OF COURSE....
