I need just one hold down piece for an MKII airbox. The longer zinc plated 2 piece one on the top and bottom of the airbox, not the shorter ones on the sides. I will use a zip tie the entire way around if I have to, but I have spent 2.5 years on this car and would like to have it somewhat nice. Let me know what is needed. Thanks Lucas ><>

He's talking about the 4, two-piece wire clips which hold the face of the air box on with an N/A air cleaner. They tend to fall off when you work on the car.

That is it Dakotakid. I don't even need the entire clip just the end part of one. It fell 3 years ago and I havent' found it...I thought I would by now. It is for an 86 NA jetta airbox. I should have said that earlier. Thanks and let me know if anyone has one to sell.

I will pm you. I recently replaced the 85-86 (more horizontal in orientation) aircleaner box with a later (late 86 to 89) more vertically oriented air box when I put this last engine together.
Why?? Well, those fasteners are often frustrating. They fall off, they lose their tauntness and need to be re-shaped (bent) and because of the later problem.....they frequently will allow small dust to seep past the sides of the air cleaner element :shock: .
The later style ones only have 4 small clips, but they seem to work better by staying tighter.
I think I can find a clip for you. Look for PM.
