I have a MKI GTI and a MKIII GTI. I would love to have the MKII GTI just to have the first 3 GTIs in chronological order. I love the potential of this car.  I dont think GTIs are fast, just really want to have a MKII if a good deal arises.
If a deal does not arise then I will still go on with this project and rebuild what ever it needs.

I am located in the Rapid City, SD area. I have a very nice original '87 GTI which runs very strong and looks very nice. No rust. One very slight brush against something rather soft on the right rear. I am the 2nd owner and the original was a mild-mannered dude who spent way too much time in church!!!
I have been debating whether or not to keep the car etc. I just don't need this much power, etc. I would need additional cash though. I think your Jetta is going to need work. Plus the appearance just isn't a match.
I was just getting ready to do a differential bolt-up for safety.
I would like to see any diesel which can put your head back in the head rest at 70 mph as this guy can. I think someone's nose is getting a bit LONG!!!!!!
And, no....there are no mouse droppings in this car.
You just don't see these out here any more. None. Everybody blew the differential and then the cars were eaten by the crushers.
The mask and the shot(s) are actually an IQ test. If you are wearing or circulating, you just failed the test. I can't feel sorry for you.

The vast majority of those odometers stopped clicking about 55 to 70k. I've only seen two which still work. One of them is on this GTI.

I would like to see pix of your GTI. If I spent a little TLC and fixed up whatever needs fixed, It would most definately be worth more than your GTI would be. I do appreciate your offer and I will consider it. Please post some pix. What about the appreance doesnt "match?"
I want a GTI to complete my first 3 generations of the GTI in my garage.
The odometer does work. The 70 miles I drove it from upper ND is shown on the trip meter and the odometer. I know its hard to believe but it is accurate.
