WTB 02A CTN code TDI transmission+cable clutch conversion
« on: April 04, 2008, 07:14:44 am »
I am planning on doing a trans swap on my MK2 Golf.  Does anyone have a 02A CTN code 5-spd trans in good shape for sale?  For the swap, I will need the starter, pressure plate, and flywheel as well.  If you have a the cable shifter box and clutch cable setup-all the better.  I could go hydro for the clutch if need be, if someone has all the parts on hand.

Thanks, Jim

Before anyone tells me it will be geared to high, rest assured, I will have power to push it

If anyone has the mechanical cable clutch setup for a 02A they want to part with, I am looking for one.

bleached bora...

Let me know as well. Actually, I'm really only interested in the manual style 02a cable clutch "cable" itself. I already have all the other bits. However, it was my understanding that the manual adjust cable was NLA from VW and all sources now and that it was hard to find them. I have a complete setup and another on tap...but both utilize the auto-adjust cable.

Also, if you still have that stinkin new oil pan, send me a PM...I'll finally get it. I feel bad that I forgot (but was just going through my old Inbox)

Just bought my part's from Dieselrules.

So what I am buying is the:
CTN transmission(110,000miles) with mounting bolts.
Matching starter with mounting bolts.
Shifter box and cables, mounting screws bolts etc.
Hydraulic parts for MK2 install will include :
The pedal cluster
clutch master cyl
clutch master cyl. bracket
clutch master cyl. supply line
slave cyl.
slave cyl. supply line
02A brake/clutch fluid reservoir
mounting nuts bolts etc.
aaz valve cover with oil cap etc.

Price was very good.  If all the parts arrive in good working condition I will be very happy with the transaction.

Gonna mate this up with my new 14lb eurospec g60 flywheel, and Sachs VR6 PP and clutch.  Sweeeet!

Anything more on the cable operated clutch.I will likely end up putting an 02a in my golf and would prefer the cable over hydraulic as I'm assuming it will be easier to install.

I am going to do some more looking.  Dieselrules threw in part of the cable clutch set up, but I will still be missing the cable and the boot.
