Subaru does have an air/water intercooler. I can't remember what model though. My a/w is based on a brand new TDI SMIC core. It is very big for an air/water, much bigger than the Spearcos I've seen. Feel free to ask or PM me if you want to know more about it.
Would you happen to know the part number for the new air/water intercooler? I'm assuming you bought it new? I was trying to look it up a while back but I couldn't get the part number as I haven't got my hands on the newest updates to that program that we're supposed to have a code name for but I can't remember it right now.

I only bought the stock TDI intercooler and we did the a/w conversion. Pictures here, here, and here. Are you asking for the part # of just the stock (not air/water) TDI intercooler? There isn't really a part number for the complete air/water intercooler. BTW how did you get the 79 GTI in the states? Did you import it from Canada? I used to have one, and a 80 GTI as well.
I was hoping for the part number for the stock air/water intercooler. It would be nice if it was relatively inexpensive
Interesting about the GTI. Quote from: "vwmike"I was hoping for the part number for the stock air/water intercooler. Just to be clear, there are no stock VW air/water intercoolers.
I was referring to the air/water used in the new TDI's.
