Since we just got dumped on again, I figured it would be time to compare winter pics. We're about a foot away from setting the total snowfall record from 1971 of 381cm/12.5 feet... Mr Gore can kiss my a$$ with global warming BS.
Pics from our 9th major storm of the year... opened the front door to find my mom's car (dad's car bottom right corner)
Hopped, skipped and jumped through snow drifts to search for mine.... Found it!!!
And you haven't noticed that it isn't anywhere as cold anymore. Why do you think there's more snow? There isn't that 4 week stretch in febuary when it's so cold it hurts to breathe. Okay so this year may be a record but before this year we've had 1 or 2 blizzards in the whole past 10 years, instead of 2 or 3 a year. This is the first year since the ice strom that i've had to shovel off the roof since 1971, and before that we used to have to do it almost every year.
In any case somewhere in there is my 71 beetle which i guess will be able to dig out sometime in august

My and my brother's Jetta's are in there somewhere, along with 3 Beetles, a Thing and a Bus. You can't even tell my brother's other Jetta is parked beside my house except for a bit of the antenna sticking out. I got stuck the other day skidooing and sunk clear to my armpits when I got off the skidoo. We haven't had this much snow since 1994/1995.
Usually snow means milder temperatures... it's all about cycles. Besides, wasn't 2000-2001 a good snow year? 3x 30+cm storms within 2 weeks in March that led to Mont Sutton digging trenches so that the chairs could clear the ski hill. Many seem to have forgotten that. Then 2002-2003 or 2003-2004 had 2x 2-3 week cold snaps that chilled you to the bone. What happened the years before and after 1971? The problem with everyone getting older is a warped sense of perspective... to a 5 year old a 5 foot mound of snow is huge, to a 25 year old, it's barely up to my chin.
Trying to attack the car as the root cause of greenhouse gas emissions is rediculous. It accounts for maybe 5-6% of total emissions. Try getting industry to change first, but you have to wonder whose hand is in whose pocket. With media being so sensationalist, it's hard to believe anything anymore. Everyone had their own agenda.
yeah and we've had a bit colder than -50F a few times this year, and a lot of -30. However, we also had 40 above for a couple weeks and even if lots of the snow didn't melt it still wouldn't have been a record year. Warm days can make a guy wimpy real quick.
that's crazy snow! My driveway looked like that after our last major dump. The diesel syncro blasted through like it wasn't even there! love it!
people were cooling our winter weak because we didn't get much snow, but it was ***ing cold as all hell this winter, the cold and precipitation just didn't line up well haha cause we got a good bit of rain that definitely would have crippled us if it had been a few degrees colder those days. our summers have been weaker imo, we had about 2 weeks last summer when it was actually hot enough that it really bothered me.
