Removing pump top.
« on: April 16, 2005, 12:29:48 pm »
Is it that hard?
Is there anything likely to shoot out?
I have a AAZ that I want to put a Different pump top on, from a pump
0 460 494 152
This pump top has the LDA laid on it's side to clear the engine lid in a T3 (Vanagon)
Is it a straight swap or will I encounter any problems?
The Bentley Vanagon manual doesn't cover the TD as the US didn't get it, and the UK manual, the Haynes doesn't cover diesels!
I do have a spare AAZ pump and a knackered JX pump (Worn Bearings)
Just don't want to pull it in pieces and everthing shoot out everywhere and waste a pump!

Interesting... could you post a pic of that LDA lid?  I don't think I've seen that before, and am very curious.  Thanks.

From the "M-TDi, Another one" thread in the TDI forum.

That is the pump top on my 1.9 TDI that I got built locally.
