Review of www.dieselvw.com's 155 bar TD Injectors
« on: March 01, 2008, 12:26:29 pm »

Pic taken from www.dieselvw.com

So I've finally received and installed them, and my first impressions are that they look nice and clean.  The only real thing telling them apart from Bosch is the pressure stamped on them and part numbers.

Performance feels a little better in the upper range, but mainly the same.  Idle seems a bit smoother.  I don't know if injectors need to be broken in, but they seem to be getting better and better.

Now I'm not 100% sure but it seems as though the injector bodies are leaking somewhat.  I'm going to keep an eye on it as it just seems a little 'wet' although there was leakage from a return line that spewed out a lot of fuel (I used compressed air to blow away the fuel).  Only time will tell.

I would recommend these injectors to people wanting to squeeze some extra mileage out of their older diesels.  The price is right, and the quality is actually pretty good considering it.  I have no long term experience with these... not sure how long they will last, but so far so good!

Yup they will settle in... I've read as much as 5 bar.

Because of this I usually calibrate mine about 5 bar high... haven't actually pulled the last set off to see how much it has settled in the end... but I know they dropped a couple of bar initially with about 2 weeks of driving.

It's pretty subjective, but on the last set I pulled off after two weeks the injectors seemed to "snap" cleaner, and the spray pattern seemed a bit more atomized (ie finer) as well.  Hard to document so it may have been in my head... I'm about to do some experiments on my AAZ so we'll see if it seems to happen a second time.

Thanks for taking the time to post your review.

I've bought quite a few things from him.

As long as he has it in stock it doesn't take long to receive, good idea to call to place your order so you can make sure everything you want is there.
