it probably added 5-8 hp with the stock NA fueling and 8psi of boost... with an IC, more boost, and more fuel, it would probably add between 10 and 20 hp... just depends on the car i guess..

My vote is 20hp on my Rabbi. It changed it from dangerously slow to just dangerous. I am running 12 psi though and fuel is turned up. It makes nice noises to boot.

My head goes back on tonight. I'll be keeping it at 12 psi at least until my ARP studs arrive. Stock are going back in for now. (new stock that is)

then arent you going to waist a head gasket then by compressing it and then having to change studs later...?
Can you do them one by one?

found out where i can get a hold of a TD block... ill be rebuilding it and beefing it up a bit and possibly buying a TD IP... ill also be getting the ARP studs, a new head gasket, and possibly a new head (i think mine may be warped... ill have a machine shop check it out before it goes on the TD block)...

I've got a 1.6 NA with a Giles pump. I wonder if the increase in fueling and rev-range would boost EGT's too high if I did the same turbo install?
Thanks for the pics, this is great.

the boost should lower egt's if you do some sort of IC, and keep them either about the same or maybe a little lower without the IC... i never had a pyrometer before this install, so i dont have anything to compare it to...

I asked my hot-rodding diesel-mechanic friend and he claims that there should be no ill-effects by doing them one-by-one. TDI guys have been doing it for awhile now.
