1.8 T to m-TDI?

It looks like the 5 valve 1.8T (827 series like all of ours) has the same stroke as our 1.6, runs 10-1 compression stock, and has the same bore as the 5.0 v10 TDI.  I wonder if it'd be strong enough to build a good m-tdi?  Could use 1.6 turbodiesel crank,  tdi injectors in adaptors in the spark plug holes, and a grid heater (like cummins) instead of glow plugs.  Is this just silly?  It sure would flow and rev if it worked.

The head just wouldn't work for many reasons such as no way to put TDI injectors in it and the fact that it probably has a large combustion chamber.

and then there is the issue of getting injector lines to the injectors if you could get them installed, plus you would most likely need custom cams

1.8T. How will you hold the TDI injector in? There is no where to screw the hold down into, and no where for the standoff for it's other end to go into. The head will have a large combustion chamber as well. With a TDI piston I bet it would be hare do achieve 8:1 compression. The injector would be in the wrong place, probably at the wrong angle. Probably more reasons than that  why it wouldn't work, but that's what I can think of at the moment. Now maybe with a TDI head, if it matches up. Then you would need larger pistons or to sleeve the block.
 As far as my engine, it is together as far as pistons in, head on, but I'm waiting on a couple parts, then hope my pump works ok.

Then there's the same issue as before, where your diesel's base cylinder pressure is almost double the gasser engine's... most of those high-high horsepower 1.8T engines are making their power above the peak RPM of the TDI, using RPMs to compensate for lower torque. High torque directly translates into high cylinder pressures... you'd probably end up cracking the bottom of the block. It would take a while, but if you started flailing at it like like people seem to enjoy doing (More and more power) I imagine the process would accelerate quite nicely.
