2009 Jetta TDI Loyal edition, 6-spd. 16V 2.0CR


1985 VW Golf 5-spd, 4-door, 1.6NA  Bought from orig. owner in Savannah with 42,000 miles.
"Making the jump NA to TD" slow but sure.

1980 VW Rabbit LS 5-spd, 4-door 1.6NA almost 450,000miles  RIP

The exhaust looks NA to me... of course I've never seen a 5 cylinder TD.
 ...and no LDA on the pump.

That looks NA to me also. The Audi 5000 was available with a 2.0L I5 TD engine in 1982-1983 but, the engine for sale above isn't one. I had an 81 Gasser 5000 best Audi  and one of the best cars I ever owned, I take a TD version of that body style in a heart beat.


There is a pretty nice looking 82 TD on ebay currently.

Not only NA, but with belts off, I wouldn't give a plugged nickel for the pistons and valves.  The original pig in a poke.  The upside is that the early engines were often manual trans - but this one has no flywheel or clutch installed.
