I used to think the "S" was for Spark ignition, and the "C" for Compression ignition, but no...... evidently S is for Service, and C is for Commercial.
Huh, well that's wild..
I'm guessing it's a moot point what it stands for since, it's a safe assumption that commercial vehicles would mostly be diesel anyway...
Thanks for that contribution Vincent, ya learn something new everyday
ahhh yes! thanks guys! i'm all geeked out on oil science! i thought there was more to then just a brand and viscoisity? never realizied it?
that helped me more then you think! i truley had no clue!
now i know i can make my next engine rebuild last longer with the right oil instead of what ever is on sale nomatter what it is!
what made me think of this is recently? at work i leave my rabbit running all day. and had been using about 2quarts of cheap oil after 8to9 hours ideling at work! and when i would take off to go home she would smoke real bad for about a good block! so i went through the cheap oil real fast! then i bought some rotella! now my oil consum is down to 1/2 a quart in a 8to9 hour of ideling at work! and nearly no smoke when i take off and drive home!
so that what got me really thinking about the actual out of date knowledge i knew about oils!
well thanks again guys
thanks Duane
at work i leave my rabbit running all day
Duane... I hope that you realize that Al Gore and a carload of homeless polar bears will now show up at your door and punch you in the nose

I'm curious, why do you leave it running Duane?

sorry guys i been working a lot !
I work heavy construction and my warm break and lunch room is my rabbit!
so if Al Gore and a bunch of homeless polar bears find me they better pack a lunch because i'm not sharing mine after setting bridge girdiers all day with a 200 ton crane out in the cold weather!
when it's below 10degrees i leave it running!
today it was up to 32degrees and i shut it off!
