I took the airdam off of a '91 jetta, flipped it upside down, shortened it and screwed it on so it sticks forward off the rabbits airdam. It looks umm, almost cool  my friends think I'm weird  If I could figure out how to put pics on here I'd do it.

'82 Rabbit, I put on a euro vnt-15, 2.25" DP, 2.5" exhaust, the result.....it whistled.

I removed the turbo, made a toilet bowl 2.5" DP, the result....it was deafening. Now it has a homemade muffler up front and a thrush in the rear, the result.....less loud.

Has anyone else tried to improve the aerodynamics of the rabbit? I tried to put a wing spoiler on my rabbit but it looked really stupid and didn't help at all. Has anybody cut the rain gutters off, or just bent em' in? I noticed that rabbits have a lot of wind noise caused by the gutters. This forum is sweet 8) !

I didnt have time to cut the gutters, I know that someone used to make covers for them. For my trip this weekend from tucson az to carson city mi I think that I am going to tape over them for increased milage towing the uhaul trailer with the TDI caddy I will give milage reports when I am done

Didn't those covers still let water drain? I like the idea.

I think that you are right on the letting water drain, I think that they clipped on the protruding edge of the rain shield or what ever they are

I have never seen them in person but have always wanted a smooth contour there

VW made a small and large chin spoiler for mkI/rabbit. they also made a-pillar fairings to pass the air over the rain gutters next to the windshield for mkI/rabbit. i bought this stuff from the dealer about a year or two ago but stocks were running thin. still, these parts are 'plentiful' by rabbit standards. cheers
