HELP!! Oil line info needed
« on: January 30, 2008, 03:38:04 pm »
I'm finally ready to install the turbo kit I received from Dave but I've hit a snag.  After waiting weeks/months for various parts I thought that everything was finally ready to go.  However, I now need the fitting that goes from the oil filter flange to the oil line.  Does anybody know the thread pitch/flange combination to this little bugger so I can source one locally?  Or, does anyone have the VW P/N for it?

swagelok makes the fitting
Mike is marked 316 osf however I can not find it on their site. Bring the oil line and the oil filter flange to a swagelok dealer and they should be able to measure it and get you the right part. It should be the same as the other end of the line going into the turbo

The dealer should be able to help you out

Thanks for the input.  The dealer shows it N/A, along with the oil line.  Impex is sending me one off of an '86, so I hope it works.

Everything's installed & running.   :D

Note:  There is a difference on the threads of the '86.  My '81 filter flange has a plug with fine-pitch thread, but the '86 adaptor that I received has coarse-pitch.  Thankfully, my "new" flange had the coarse-pitch tapped into the hole so it worked with a simple flange swap.
