Feeler: Low km 97 TDI complete engine swap
« on: January 08, 2008, 06:46:17 pm »
I actually bought this car for the tranny, the fact that it was a TDI and low km was just a bonus.  Anyway I am not sure wether or not I want to keep the engine for some project down the road or sell it now.  I know that just the engine locally are running from between $1000 to $2000 at the wreckers.  At any rate I was wondering what would be a reasonable price to ask for it.

Thanks

Jeremy

Would this be for the complete car or just the engine?

how many km's?  i bought a TDI longblock (no injection pump or turbo) for $1200.  very good shape with only about 120'000km.  when torn down the engine was in surprisingly good shape.  (from Europe)

TDI Engine

the odometer has about 11,000 km on it.  I am not sure if it is accurate or not.  The Engine looks clean only really showing the aluminum oxide on the aluminum parts from the age of it but otherwise looks to be really nice and it sounded great.  The only reason why I question the accuracy of it all is because of the sheer age of if.  I am not too sure if it is an AHU or a 1Z, but I will try to get pictures up some time this weekend.  As far as what would be included I want to know the value of a complete engine Swap. As far as I am comcerned that was the engine accessories, pump turbo, down pipe, engine harness, and ECU, If I left anything out please let me know.

Thanks Jeremy

If the odometer has 11000km, the car ha 311000km, at 300000km the MK3 cluster reset to "0"
