 :?: Is there any reason why a 1.6TD from my Quantum wouldn't drop in to the above car? Apart from manifold issues? :?:

That's a gas car isn't it?  So you'd need to wire your own diesel electrical system.  That and I'm pretty sure that there will be some engine mount issues.  You'd also probably end up losing the use of any optional engine management equipment currently installed on the car, for example cruise control.  The gas tank I think is very adaptable to diesel use (just take out the in tank fuel pump and replace with a diesel fuel pickup screen/fuel line unit, I think they are the same size and both just screw into the top of the tank).
