injector retainers
« on: January 05, 2008, 06:36:08 pm »
Ok, I got some injector retainers off e-bay. After looking and trying them, it appears there must be some part that goes between them and the head. What are these parts called, and do any online retailers sell them? Thanks.
Remember, I am turning an AAZ into a TDI, so I am having to buy every part that is different. Or is it something I can make, maybe cutting and turning some bolts down? BTW, they are ALH retainers, but it looks like they should work for a 1Z.

There are only a couple parts to the injector hold downs (glad you found a set! I think i'm going to get mine from there too).

There is the Hold down itself, the bolt and a special washer that "seats" in the hold down. Then, the hold down itself its in a cylindrical "cup" that is fairly easily "press fit" into the cylinder head itself...

You can see the "cylindrical cup" I'm talking about here in the pic of my motor build for the mk1

They are black...

So...
4- Hold downs
4-hold down bolts w/ washers
4- press fit cylindrical cups that go in the head.

If I wasn't so lazy to change my screen resolution at the moment to use ETKA , I'd get you a screenshot with P/N... but maybe later if someone hasn't already.

Not to intrude but you might want to use ETOS... they fixed the etka screen resolution bug and much more user friendly to use

Etka 7 will resize to suit your screen

Here's a screen shot of the 1Z injector setup:

Thanks! That's what I need, the bearing bracket, #7. I did get the bolts and washers with the retainers.
