Hello all,
i am new to the forum and was directed here by someone who is helping me in a project i am away to get started, as she has done the same project already.
My name is Richard and i am away to start converting a VW Corrado G60\VR6 (depending on what i get), into a TDI engined machine.
I have had a good read of the various topics of how to go about this.
What i have learned so far:
Donor car to go for is a 1995-1997 Passat 1.9 TDI idealy with the AHU Engine as its more reliable.
I have begun to look inot how i would go about getting a relatively reliable, stable tune of 14-150BHP from this engine. Most of my experience in engines is Petrol (Gas) based, and i have no idea about turbo's but my dad has.
However it seesm to me that the best idea is to go for some larger nozzles, and a chip\ECU tweak. However this seesm to give me about 20bhp more (25 if i get a more racy set up), however would the next step be a larger or more boostable turbo.
I kave looked on KermaTDI but their turbo's seem to be all B5 based, where as i will be using a B4 model passat.
Can anyone help explain what turbos i can put on the AHU engine along with powerplus 520\764 nozzles and an ecu fettle (as its in the UK, i am unsure where a ahu engine ECU can be tweeked as it seems unpopular by the manufacturers as they all like the plug and change newer mk 4 ecu's etc)
Thanks for any advice, shall post ablog, once i get going.
